Check Up

The ultrasound technician was nice enough. She sounded European. Maybe Russian. She worried me.

The session took longer than I had thought it would but in retrospect it took about the same time as last time. What worried me most during the scan was her attention to my right side. Granted, that's where the gallbladder is, but it seemed like she was scanning me there forever.

Afterwards, when I asked her how long it would take for my specialist to get the results, she whispered "about a week." Then, to add to my worry she asked, "do you have any more tests today?" Why would she be asking me this? Do I have something to worry about that I have to have more tests?

Then I got a hold of myself and chalked up her question to her trying to be nice. Or curiousity. Or her finding something wrong with my insides.

A healthy imagination is not always a good thing.
